Terms like masterpiece and modern classic get thrown around a lot these days, but this really is one of the finest films of the century. Perhaps 10 minutes in Adrien Brody starts crying and I thought "My god, he's going to win another oscar for this". It really is a towering picture. The cinematography, the screenplay, the acting, sets, score, editing, the flipping opening and closing credits are uniquely stylized. This one will be talked about and referenced for decades to come. I stand by that it is one of the top 25 pictures of the century so far, and perhaps the best American film since Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. To be mentioned among the likes of Fury Road, Mulholland Drive, There Will Be Blood, and In the Mood for Love, this will be recognized as one of the most towering films of our time.

Watched this a few years ago and this show is a great watch. Very procedural in a good way. I really enjoyed it, and would definitely watch it again, but I wouldn't necessarily call it one of the greatest miniseries. It was a tad bit forgettable if I'm being honest. Well made, great special effects, but I can hardly remember anything that happens. I love Bill Camp, and it's very engaging. The 5 episode run time was perfect for the story. Totally solid and worth owning on DVD or Blu-Ray. 8.5 overall.

I've heard nothing but amazing things about this series for ages. I watched the first episode 3 or 4 times, and owned it on DVD for over a decade, but WOW. I wish someone told me they land on Normandy in the SECOND EPISODE. I imagined it was 5 or 6 episodes of build up and war at the end, but holy cow, it starts right at the beginning of episode 2 and hardly relents for the remainder of the run time. A lot of the critics complain about too many characters not fleshed out enough, but I didn't mind. That's exactly how it would be in the Easy Company. The first and final episodes are a bit slow, but it far exceeded my expectations overall, and very much lives up to the hype. I forsee a great many rewatches of this masterpiece in my future. I'm very grateful these men sacrificed so much so I don't have to.
