Excellent that Mallory and Goodfellow were given more depth to their characters with bigger roles. Great Jack Deam scenes showing he has a talent for humor. The whole play was hilarious. The uppity director's reactions to the tryouts laying an egg were very funny. Emer Kenny as Bunty might of been preggers looking plump. No form fitting outfits here. Ending trapping the villain has been done many times before. But it didn't really matter, still a very good episode.
Some of the best series scenes of James Gregory as inspector Luger. Implying Wojo was a coward for not getting shot by the sniper. Then, his memorable morbid, tearful reminiscing of how ex fellow cops Foster, Kleiner, and Brownie met their demise is one of my favorite all-time scenes of classic sitcoms. Excellent casting of Jay Robinson as con man Morton Hackler. His limp wristed handshake with Barney was hilarious.
The script stalled mostly until a good ending. The pickpocket and his victim were very bland. Better casting would of helped the comedy flow. The child birth before getting to a hospital has been used to death in sitcoms. The brilliant regular cast did a great job with it though.
Barney's wife with party favors and champagne at the squad room was awkward. Fish losing the jumper was oddly downplayed. An uneven episode.
