Has written numerous plays and performed in them, including plays based on the lives of Mozart, Will Rogers, John Wayne and Nazi war criminal Reinhard Heydrich. One of the most recent, "Dirty Laundry" (premiered April 2003, Honolulu) is set in a television newsroom with enough similarities to his current news anchor job that many people thought the play might be a critical commentary on the condition of present-day Hawaiian television news reporting.
