Cousin of Nicholas Turturro, John Turturro, and Ralph Turturro. First cousin once removed of Arianna Turturro and Diego Z. Turturro.

Long-time friend of her I Soprano (1999) co-star, James Gandolfini. In addition to the HBO series, they appeared in three feature films together -- Angie - Una donna tutta sola (1994), Il tocco del male (1998) and Romance & Cigarettes (2005). (She played Gandolfini's daughter in Romance & Cigarettes (2005), and his sister in I Soprano (1999).) The two also appeared in the 1992 Broadway revival of "A Streetcar Named Desire", which starred Jessica Lange and Alec Baldwin.

Majored in theatre at State University of New York, New Paltz (Class of 1984). Played Mayor Dawgmeat in the SUNY New Paltz production of the musical "Li'l Abner" during her senior year.
