John Williams(IX)

Often confused with John Williams, who is also a musician.

I'm certainly learning all the time, although I don't know if I'm improving. I'm doing quite a bit of medieval and Irish music at the moment, and when you go into specialist areas like that, you learn a lot because it's not easy music to play. A lot of classical musicians think that folk and traditional music is easy to play, but it's actually very difficult to get the real feel of it. Understanding the feeling and the tradition - and communicating that - is much more difficult than mastering the technique itself.
