Paul's father owned a restaurant across from a movie theater, which is where Paul lived for most of his childhood. Robert Altman's Popeye - Braccio di ferro (1980) was the first movie he ever saw and loved. He also watched Spiccioli dal cielo (1981) and Arturo (1981) every day of their theatrical runs.
