Wes Ramsey Returning to ‘Days of Our Lives’ — Who Is He Playing?
Image
Days of Our Lives fans got a surprise on Tuesday, November 25, when a new promo video teased the return of Wes Ramsey, the actor who played Owen Kent for 19 episodes in 2009. As reported by Soap Opera Digest, eagle-eyed viewers spotted the blink-and-you-miss-it cameo from Ramsey toward the end of the promo. In a quick flash of a scene, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) apprehended a hooded figure. “Where is my daughter?” Steve yelled as the hooded man’s face was very briefly shown. Although the man’s face was only on screen for a split second, it didn’t take long for longtime Days fans to figure out it was Ramsey.

‘Landman’: Andy Garcia Reveals What Gallino Is Really After With Cooper’s Oil Deal
Image
[Warning: The following post contains spoilers for Landman Season 2 Episode 3, “Almost a Home.”] Landman‘s first season finale might’ve marked the official introduction of Andy Garcia‘s drug cartel boss Gallino, but Sunday’s (November 30) installment was when fans finally got to know him and his alter ego, Dan Morrell, the public-facing investor with ties to all manner of legitimate businesses. In the episode, he and Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) met on two different occasions, and only one of them was acrimonious. Tommy was, of course, sour about the fact that his son, Cooper (Jacob Lofland), unwittingly tied himself to the druglord and made no bones about his disapproval to Gallino. As Garcia explained it,...

Elizabeth Olsen Says Growing Up in the Shadow of Sisters Mary-Kate & Ashley Was ‘Chaotic’
Image
Marvel actress Elizabeth Olsen recently dished on what it was like growing up in the shadow of her childhood star sisters, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen. In a recent interview with The Times, the WandaVision star described her childhood as “chaotic,” recalling that her older sisters were “forced to watch all my plays” and “go to my dance performances.” Mary-Kate and Ashley were thrust into the limelight as infants, sharing the role of Michelle Tanner on the hit sitcom Full House from 1987 to 1995. Brolin refuted the idea that his villainous character, Monsignor Wicks — a manipulative religious leader — was inspired by the Potus. “I could make something up and say it was rooted in a kind of Trumpian greed,” he pointed out. “I’m not scared of Trump, because even though he says he’s staying forever, it’s just not going to happen. And if it does, then I’ll deal with that moment.

Image
At this point, it feels almost impossible to imagine anyone other than Antony Starr playing the homicidally-inclined Homelander on the "The Boys." But the New Zealand-born actor wasn't originally all that interested in the role. In a 2020 interview with Metro, the actors who star on the subversive superhero series all shared their stories of auditioning and being cast, and Starr revealed that he had initially shrugged off the idea of even trying out because he believed he wasn't built like the superheroes portrayed on the big screen.

Starr was a busy actor when "The Boys" was being cast, having started...

15 TV Shows Like Euphoria
Image
Based on an Israeli series of the same name, "Euphoria" debuted on HBO in 2019 with an arresting, undoubtedly provocative, and borderline exploitative opening: a Pov shot of its main character, Rue (Zendaya), being born while footage of the September 11th, 2001, terrorist attacks plays on a nearby television. It sends a message to the viewer: There will be no compromises made here.

Since then, the show hasn't let up. With series creator, showrunner, and primary writer-director Sam Levinson at the helm, the show has depicted all sorts of teenage struggles with sex, drugs, crime, violence, and abuse, usually in explicit and garishly filmed detail.

15 Seinfeld Episodes That Have Aged Terribly
Image
It's rare for a sitcom to remain relevant decades past its airing, but then again, it's also rare for a sitcom to be as great as "Seinfeld." The NBC series ran from 1989 to 1998, making television icons out of its four unlikable leads: stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld (with the real Jerry Seinfeld playing a fictionalized version of himself), neurotic George Costanza (Jason Alexander, playing a fictionalized version of series co-creator Larry David), shallow Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and wacky Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards).

Despite the show's longevity and popularity, "Seinfeld" suffers from the same pitfall as a lot of '90s television: aging badly.

Similarly, detective shows span the gamut of narrative tones, from crime comedies to grimmer fare that play out like nihilistic thrillers, each adding their own distinct take on the genre.

Of course, that’s not how it goes down in Episode 2 of Stranger Things 5, the final season of the beloved series, which debuted its first four episodes on Nov. 26.

In the episode titled “The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler,” all hell breaks loose when a Demogorgon tears through the ceiling of young Holly’s (Nell Fisher) bedroom. As she tries to flee the monster, the camera cuts to Karen (Cara Buono) sipping her wine to the soothing,...

‘Brilliant Minds’: Brian Altemus Teases ‘Explosive’ Stuff to Come With Wolf & Charlie
Brilliant Minds (2024)
When Brilliant Minds returned for its second season, it introduced a few new characters, including a new resident for Dr. Oliver Wolf’s (Zachary Quinto) neurology department, Dr. Charlie Porter (Brian Altemus). He claims to be there to learn from the best (Wolf) but clearly has an ulterior motive, given the side of the character we’ve seen in flash forwards, the timeline in which Wolf is a patient at Hudson Oaks, run by Dr. Amelia Frederick (Bellamy Young). “Things are definitely going to come to a head in a pretty explosive way,” Altemus tells TV Insider ahead of the Monday, December 1, episode. “It’s stuff that I still, thinking...

12 Best Norman Lear TV Shows Ranked
Image
When Norman Lear passed away in 2023 at the ripe old age of 101, he left behind an astounding legacy. He didn't just create a few television shows; he fundamentally altered what sitcoms were allowed to talk about. Sure, there were popular sitcoms before he really got going, like "I Love Lucy" and "The Honeymooners." They were pleasant escapes with silly characters who made funny jokes, occasionally touching on something more serious, like when "I Love Lucy" allowed a pregnant Lucille Ball to portray Lucy as such on the show.

But then you had series like "All in the Family" and "Maude...

The ever-calculating, always-planning, consistently confident Vecna Crawl team leader Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) made a mistake in the fifth and final season premiere of “Stranger Things”: not telling her parents and little sister that monsters were real.

Now, that error might cost Nancy and Mike’s (Finn Wolfhard) mom Karen (Cara Buono), dad Ted (Joe Chrest) and little sister Holly (Nell Fisher) their lives, as Vecna has unleashed the Upside Down on the entire Wheeler family in order to get to Holly and use her in his overall plan for world domination.

What Does Frasier's 'Tossed Salads And Scrambled Eggs' Theme Song Mean?
Image
Baby, you may hear the blues a-callin', but have you ever wondered why the theme song to "Frasier" is "Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs?"

In 2012, the song's composer, Bruce Miller, spoke to former "Cheers" and "Frasier" writer Ken Levine about the genesis of the song — sung by series star Kelsey Grammer and played at the end of each episode, rather than the beginning — and revealed that he was specifically asked not to mention anything that directly referred to the premise or plot of "Frasier." "I was told they wanted something pretty eclectic and jazzy, but to avoid any direct references to specific subject matter,...
