Procura-se Irenice

Very nice short documentary about a black athlete, runner, who faced racism, mysoginy and all kinds of boycott due her brave defense of rights when critical opinions were not allowed: harsh Brazilian military dictatorship. In those coward and reactionary years of censorship, murders and torture, even sports most powerful managers were also military. As the documentary was made about an important character who has been considerably erased, producers had the challenge of researching a lot. The outcome was nice, as they met relatives, friends and colleagues of already deceased Irenice. Little but nice footage has also been found and included. The presence, dance and body work of Kanzelumuka were remarkable and did work in order to fill the gaps of visual content. Irenice did deserve this homage and memory.
