Covardia de Plantão

The title "Covardia de Plantão" attracked me enough to finding exactly what it was all about. A small research and next thing I know it's actually a music video from punk rock group Ratos de Porão and not exactly just a short film even though there is some story in there. The best part of it is that the little story completely relates with the lyrics, something rare to find these days.

The loud, non-stop energy music talks about a man expressing a gratuitous act of violence he suffered on the hands of strangers, a pure act of cowardice, and the story featured here is pretty much the same when we see a poor man walking down the street at night getting beat up by different groups of people, from a punk gang to a soccer hooligans who even pee at him. Frankly, it has one of the most violent music videos I've ever seen, if not, the most violent I can remember. It's blood everywhere (excellent makeup effects and seeing that the director has a gory horror short film all I can say is that the man has great talent and a great crew behind him), punches and kicks everywhere and the lonely man can't stand a chance against the brutality drawn upon him. It completely matches the tone of the song.

Although not my style of music and I had to see a captioned version to actually understand what João Gordo was saying in the lyrics, I end up enjoying the music for a while. But the ultimate key memorable thing is really the thrilling story while the group puts their highest effort as musical background. Only for curious minds and viewers or fans of the group, obviously. 6/10.
