This documentary film takes audiences to all the places mentioned in the Bible where the Apostle Paul lived, traveled and visited.
Author, apologist and expert Middle East tour guide Steve Ray, hosts and narrates the film. It includes aerial views as well as stops at places on the ground where Paul preached and spread the gospel to the gentiles. The first stop is Paul's (who then was known as Saul) home town of Tarsus. That's where Roman general Mark Antony and Egyptian queen Cleopatra met in 41 B. C.
From there the film goes to Jerusalem where Saul was known to have lived, studied and resided. Then it's on to Damascus where Saul became known as Paul after his conversion. After returning to Jerusalem and Mt. Sinai, where Paul spent time in the desert, the tour follows the apostle's travels across Asia Minor (modern day Turkey), Greece, and then to Rome. Stops include Ephesus, Neapolis, Philippi, Corinth, Thessalonica, Beroea, Athens, Caesarea, Malta and Rome.
This documentary is one of a 10-film series produced by Ignatius Press and St. Joseph Productions. "The Footprints of God" presents the story of salvation, from Abraham to Augustine with modern visits and film of all the places and sites of the Bible and ancient Church. The films include aerial scenes of the landscape and closeups of specific sites. Many digs and archaeological sites are included. Host Steve Ray takes viewers to shrines, synagogues and ancient churches built over historic biblical places. The films show birth places, grave sites and tombs, caves, jails, and fortresses. Ancient ruins include pagan temples, churches, houses, harbors, and Roman aqueducts and paved roads.
In my travels I have been able to visit many of the places and sites in this film. This is an outstanding video and film series that most people should enjoy.
