Jonatan Spangs Danmark

A great rewatch that I actually liked a bit more on a rewatch since I have grown and worth that the show just hits a little harder in the best way possible. Overall such a solid show and performance.

Jonatan goes through a few topics witch criticises the Danish society.

What makes this show works so well is that it is just good old stand up. Other than a smaller twist to the formular at the end it is just pure stand up at its finest. It is a very strong show with a some really strong topics that lean themselves towards being laughed at and I think it works so well for a country like Denmark that sees themselves as a good place to be, but are annoyed and unknowing on so many topics, topics that this show takes up.

This is one big political and societal rand. It is on a higher level than just small stuff and big political aspects that works wonders for comedy and its obvious why Jonatan went this route later in life.

The language here is both classic stand up but also presented in a strong philosophical and intelligent way. This show has some controversial opinions in some ears but presents them in a way that is not too woke, censored or too anti-woke. Jonatan dares to just ask questions and it works wonders for this show. Some of the topics will only become more irrelevant over time, but that is the cure of doing topical comedy. I laughed multiple times at this show.

I also liked the laid back twist with the beer coming out, fun.

Jonatan is such a strong performer and his language and tone has only evolved for each adoration of himself. This is him at his strongest to me. He owns the language, jokes and scene and his charisma works wonders for this performance.

Overall such a strong societal critical show that knows exactly what it is doing and it is presented and executed to absolute perfection. Jonatan is a strong performer and to have some strong pure stand up is always awesome.
