Rasp

'Rasp (2017)' is a short horror film about a man who is confronted by a strange being at his front door. The thing is a tad too long for its own good and isn't all that scary. It does have a relatively good final jump scare, but other than that it's just a bit bland, really. The creature is the same creature as seen in several other shorts directed by Donahue, which dilutes its effectiveness, and the story isn't really mined for all its worth. It's shot nicely and, as I mentioned, it has a decent final image. Despite having better finale than most of its director's other work, though, it's typically an average affair. It isn't bad, but it isn't great. 5/10.

It explores the old fears of viewer. and it does it well. because the axis is only a door knocking. and, in fact, nothing else. and the virtue of director is to use, in correct manner, old recipe of horror. so, a good film. for the inspired idea to use one of fears defining part of its public.
