This was a generally solid if somewhat underwhelming entry. One of the main features to be had with the film is the series' usually high standard when it comes to the inclusion of strong supernatural encounters. The idea featured here remains pretty much the same as most others in the series where it focuses quite heavily on the idea of deformed beings appearing out of nowhere with unnatural features to yell or scream at someone when they're not expecting it which is a fine touch with how it's approached here. With this one going for the supernatural entity performing a set action as if on routine only for the figure to disappear in the aftermath of a dream sequence, this is a fairly common occurrence to the point of providing the groundwork necessary to give this a solid grounding for the finale where the use of black magic and occult rituals that have been commonplace in the series come about to explain everything. In the end, these give this likable factors although, outside of this, there's not much to the film overall. The main issue here is a seemingly flimsy and ill-structured storyline that takes a fairly random series of scenes together but never really connects them. With the setup done by design as the reasoning comes about at the very end, regardless of how good that comes off and does a solid job of explaining everything it still makes the film come off like a randomized selection of sequences featuring a terrifying supernatural being. Very few of these scenes come off as anything different from dreams or hallucinations, so the tactic wears out its welcome the longer it goes on with everything coming off as another variation of the same thing. This lets the film meander around in uninteresting and somewhat repetitive storylines surrounding these encounters which does make the film interesting if somewhat uninvolved for the most part.
Rated Unrated/R: Violence and Language.
The makeup, on the other hand, was great. You can tell effort was put into it, and it turned out really good. Same with the music. In fact, the end credits were better than the movie itself-at least the music was enjoyable.
As for the acting, I want to highlight Merve Ates. She did a great job, and I especially noticed how much she's improved. Sadly, she was wasted in the wrong movie.
I guess the movie tries to show how dangerous black magic can get, but it just doesn't work. There's only one scene I liked, and that was the final scene. The setting and atmosphere were good. Other than that, there was nothing memorable for me. Without a solid story, a horror film falls apart. I kept waiting for something to happen-but nothing.
This has become my least favorite Siccin film. I can't even believe it's directed by Alper Mestci. Definitely the worst of the series...
