      Appearing as an extra in this film is what made Noomi Rapace want to be an actress. According to Rapace, some of the actors where getting tired after a long day of shooting the wedding scene and asked director Hrafn Gunnlaugsson to call it a day. When he heard this, he pointed at Rapace who was still dancing after hours of filming, and said: "Look, if that little girl can continue, then so can you!" Rapace's stepfather Hrafnkell Karlsson also appears in the film as one of Edda's farmhands. He is the big one with curly hair. Rapace mother, Nina Norén, appears as Edda's older maid - the one who rides.

      The actor playing Egil is obviously not trained to use a bow as he displays all beginners errors when he handles it like how he holds his right arm and the placing of the arrow on the bow's right side. Compare and contrast with the actor playing Grimur who handles his bow correctly.

    Great Movie

    I saw this movie about 10 years ago in Cincinnati under the title "Shadow of the Raven." It was subtitled, obviously, and it was an excellent movie. I would love to see it again. I wonder if it will ever come out on video? It is such a shame that great movies like this are so quickly "forgotten."
