Okay, I admit it... This TV film, also written by Curtis Hanson, doesn't tell us a story we haven't heard before, especially for 80s cinema/TV films... We've seen the same NY streets countless times, from Martin Scorsese films to the TV series "Fame"... But it's still a good piece to watch, especially for Danny Nucci's adolescent acting talent... I also realized that even TV films from the 80s were bolder than today's cinema films.

I haven't been to Times Square myself, I only know it from films, but the criticisms about the film at the time were that it did justice to the story it told.

Isn't that the primary mission of a film anyway?

Curtis Hanson's filmography is also quite interesting, by the way... It's clear from there that the narrative mastery in this film is no coincidence.
