School for Romance

Lou Holtz is Professor Romanzky, who instructs beautiful young women how to make love to their sweeties in a variety of situations and in several accents that change from moment to moment in this tepid, ribald little Pre-Code short subject from Columbia. Like others of the shorts directed by songwriter Archie Gottler, it's done in a combination of songs and rhymes that suggest recitative. The best remembered of these is UMPA, although the Three Stooges starred in one for their first Columbia short, WOMEN HATERS.

There's quite a cast of lovely ladies, including Betty Grable, Carol Tevis and Billie Seward. Some of the male actors include Arthur Treacher and Ward Bond, but with the ladies to look at, who notices?
