We often watch this when Jeopardy goes on a commercial break. I don't have a strong dislike for it, but it does kind of get on my nerves. It's a total waste of time, and a complete downer of a program. The positive and inspirational stories are few and far between. I know I definitely don't need to watch it for my mental health. I'm already cynical and paranoid by nature. I don't need anything that's going to make me question the state of humankind. Inside Edition covers political and social events, but it's not actual news. I feel like they just do a lot of fearmongering. They take stories that are isolated events, and try to make them seem like regular occurrences. They don't cover homelessness or AI, which are both very significant issues that are having a profound impact on society, but yet they cover a man stabbing a fast food drive thru worker, and then stabbing 4 girls who were out at the movies together. Crime is a problem, but random acts of violence really aren't that common. If you watch this too much, you'll become scared to leave your house. I don't recommend for people who struggle with anxiety. I would also bypass this if you want news that is reported with an adherence to journalistic standards. The tabloid-like presentation and the sensationalism makes it on par with garbage like Entertainment Tonight or Access Hollywood.
