I love the magical-girl anime series. And this anime is one of my favorites, along with Princess Tutu, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Mermaid Melody, Pichi Pichi Pitch, and Sailor Moon. The series is about 16-year-old Himeno Awayuki adjusting to her new life as a millionaire's stepdaughter. But one day, she meets a group of boys known as the "Leife Knights.". And the knights had chosen Himeno to be a magical heroine known as Princess Pretear to save the world from the Princess of Disaster.
This anime has some fairy tale similarities, such as when Himeno's father, a poor novelist, remarries a wealthy widow with two daughters, evoking the story of "Cinderella." Himeno's mother also passes away when she is very young. Regarding comparisons with the "Snow White" fairy tale, the seven knights are equivalent to either the seven dwarfs or the seven knights, as depicted in Alexander Puskin's version. The title itself just alludes to the surface level, speaking more to Himeno's development and function than to the actual "Snow White" story. The kiss at the end, of course, comes from the awakening of the princess by her prince, including Snow White. Another comparison is between Himeno and Takako/Fenrir and Snow White and the Queen and Snow White.
I think Himeno and Hayate make a cute couple, and I adore them. It was a great show to watch all around, in my opinion. Big thumbs up!

When I first saw the trailer of this anime,I gotta say that this series has to be one of the best shows to add to my Collection, and to prove it,it was. When I bought the entire collection at a convention,it was magical, and beautiful. It was the Cinderella of anime,I really got into the show, and story, and of course the theme song was mostly the best part. My favorite character's in the show are:Himeno,Sasame,Goh,and Hiyate. And another I like about the show when Himeno Prets into different costumes, and they are the best. And this series directed by Junichi Sato,(famous for Sailor Moon). But However this show is the best.So in closing, add this one to your collection. You will see what I mean.
I can't believe how much I enjoyed Pretear. I loved it from start to finish and I especially became a big fan of the romantic relationship between Himeno and Hayate. This series has everything: magic, romance, comedy, mystery, family, tragedy etc. Honestly, I love this anime so much that I wish it made more than 13 episodes. This series is so underrated. I loved everything, the characters, storyline, romance. Everything was perfect that I honestly have no complaints. All the characters were fun and entertaining to watch, especially all their unique personalities and funny antics, wether they were Himeno's family or the Leafe Knights.
I felt such immense chemistry between Himeno and Hayate. The beginning of their relationship is a classic rocky start, especially because of Hayate refusing to accept Himeno as the new magical girl. However, as they gradually get to know, understand and learn more about each other, their relationship begins to grow and improve until the romance between them begins to truly blossom. Himeno and Hayate have such a sweet love story and I felt such strong love and chemistry in every one of their romantic scenes throughout the series and I enjoyed every minute. Aside from the main romance, I really liked how Pretear also focused on the topic of unrequited love and how it played a role in the mystery of the anime.
I also felt this series was very relatable regarding all the family issues that both Himeno and Mawata were facing. Himeno feeling like an outsider in her new family since her stepmother and stepsisters didn't seem very accepting of her and believed no one would care if she wasn't around anymore. Mawata's problems were even more saddening, feeling all alone with no one noticing her suffering, especially the fact she was still dealing with the death of her father. I can definitely understand and sympathise with them, but it certainly reminds you to be more aware and sensitive to the people's feelings around you.
Overall, Pretear is one of the best and most underrated anime series I've ever seen. I loved every minute and I'll enjoy watching it again and again and would definitely recommend this series for others to watch and enjoy too.
