This was the third in a series of six Nick Carter films produced by Éclair in 1908. Each of the films was intended to stand on its own; and only this film and the fourth in the series ("The Banker") were released in this country at the time (early 1909). In fact, World Import & Trading Co. referred to "The Banker" as 'the last of the Nick Carter Series', which, of course, it wasn't.
