The Last Temptation of Homer

Everything about this episode is nice.

The jokes are all on point, and seeing early Homer struggling with other woman has always been my favorite kind of episode.

It keeps it real and relatable, one of if not my favorite episode of the whole franchise. The story wraps up very well in a wholesome way, it's the kind of episode that is just timeless and always relevant.

The new character and guest star fits very well, it doesn't overstay its welcome.

The episode was an instant classic and one if the very high point of the simpsons, still discussed today and loved by fans. It's a good entry point for whoever wants to enjoy a classic episode.

While this episode meets the quality standards of the show's golden era, the story leans more towards humor than realism. It becomes challenging to believe that a woman like Mindy would be attracted to someone like Homer.

To emphasize this point, the episode starts with Homer already thinking that Mindy is interested in him, and all he does is avoid encountering her. In the end, we're left unsure if Mindy felt anything special for Homer throughout the episode. The focus seems to be more on comedic aspects than on the narrative.

That's why when I say the first three or four seasons were truly the best, I mean it. In my view, ever since I devised my experimental viewing method, it becomes increasingly clear to me that the series started its decline around season four or five.

Two plots. One involves a beautiful woman being hired at the power plant. She and Homer are so much alike that sexual tension comes on strong. Homer is immediately guilty. Bart goes to the doctor and ends up being transformed into a nerd. A few good jokes but not up to the usual standards.
