Boxed In

This short is from the Moviemark DVD Indie Shorts Project Vol. 1 (2006). While I wasn't impressed by most of the shorts, I really liked BOXED IN--even though, at first, I wasn't all that thrilled by what I was watching. That's because I noticed how crude the movie was--with tons of swearing and nasty behavior. Plus, the lead who is supposed to be REAL bad just looks like a sweet young film student. She tries hard, but just looks too cute for such a nasty role. I'd love to see her in a different sort of role, as she was a good actress.

Now despite this, I am very glad I kept watching. That's because despite the cursing and blood and all, the story turned out to be very satisfying--sort of like an episode of "The Twilight Zone". The film had a good chilling atmosphere AND ended on a very, very positive note.
