If you liked Paranormal Activity and thought that this might be along those lines, do not waste your time on this. The story line and special effects are really bad and very predictable. The two 30 year old women who are supposed to be teens in high school in this dumpster fire of a movie are not good enough actors to make anything believable from the very start.
I surprisingly liked this one. At first I thought it was too slow..but keep watching..it gets better more towards the end...plot twist u didn't see coming...
This movie started out pretty good and then it completely crashed and burned. Do scary movies even exist anymore? I love movies about the paranormal and horror movies in general but ppl keep making sub genres while still calling them horror.
Like Jordan Peele. They're good movies but they're not horror and they're not scary. They're "messaging horror" where they all have some social meaning of telling ppl to be kind to each other or putting a spotlight on mental illness.
I want The Conjuring, The Exorcist, Freddy, Jason and Michael. That's scary, that's horror.. not these new movies that want to make some point, send some deep message or just aren't any good.
This movie is no different. It presents itself as one type, then changes it completely as you're watching it. I don't want to give any spoilers so you'll have to see for yourself what went so wrong.
It's an understatement to call this movie disappointing. It had so much potential and failed miserably.

I wasn't expecting too much from this movie, it looked decent enough from the trailer. Movie had decent story and you could feel sympathy for the family in the haunted house. Then out of nowhere comes this extremely unbelievable ending. I don't get mad at movies much but this hacked me off. The film makers should be ashamed of themselves for the ending. I recommend staying away from this movie. You'll feel like you wasted time.
A grieving man (John Littlefield) and his two girls (Alyson Gorske & Jessica Chancellor) move to a town in Northern California where he purchased an incredible mansion at a curiously low price. When strange things start happening, they hear rumors of the manor's infamous past. Jasmine Waltz is on hand as the sultry realtor while Eric Roberts plays an amiable neighbor.
"616 Wilford Lane" (2021) has the setting of "Glass House: The Good Mother" (2006), an awesome mansion in sunny California, but with an altogether different story, à la spooky goings-on in the manner of M. Night Shyamalan mixed with "The Amityville Horror" (1979/2005). There's a creepy element that goes back to the "Amelia" episode of "Trilogy of Terror" (1975), just don't expect a crazy Zuni doll.
The flick works well as is, but the creators insisted on tacking on an ending that I don't want to say too much about. It can still be enjoyed yet the "creative" climax lowers my grade. It just wasn't needed. I should add that my wife was impressed by the twist.
The three key women are a highlight with Jessica standing out.
The movie runs 1 hour, 25 minutes, and was shot in California, presumably Auburn, which is 25-30 miles northeast of Sacramento in Northern Cal.
