I will admit that I do enjoy bad films, and that's noteworthy for this review, because this film won me early on with the main character helping herself to a vampire tea bag, after taking a bite out of someone's hand.
I like the fact that there's a lot of question between is she turning into a vampire, or does she have rabies. It does get a bit "fever dreamish" but I like that take on it. Since being turned, or having rabies would be believable to cause.
Especially since with vampirism you literally die to get turned. So it was an interesting take on the idea.

It could have been an awesome movie, instead reached...... I wish it hadn't, worth a watch, just sick of these disappointing movies, the lead was awesome, such a shame
A pretty cool movie that feels like an episode of Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt. Genre legend, Caroline Williams, gives an amazing performance as a RocknRoll DJ dealing with the existential dread that comes with getting older, and vampires!
I initially sat down to watch the 2020 horror movie titled "Ten Minutes to Midnight" because it was a horror movie that I hadn't seen already, and also because Wednesday 13 had it mentioned on his Facebook page. And of course with it being a horror movie, then I would eventually sit down to watch the movie.
And I must say that I like the movie's cover/poster, as it has a very nice atmospheric presentation of the movie to it, and there is just something very retro about it.
Now as for the movie itself, well... Sure, "Ten Minutes to Midnight" was watchable, but it was hardly a grand foray into the horror genre. For me the movie was just a bit too strange, with writers Erik Bloomquist and Carson Bloomquist approach to the storyline. It felt a bit too avantgarde, I mean with the things like switching the characters and actors/actresses around portraying them, and the general confusion that there was to the movie.
It wasn't all bad though, because there definitely were elements to "Ten Minutes to Midnight" that worked out well in favor of the movie. One of the most important of such elements was the 1980s horror movie feel that director Erik Bloomquist had managed to capture throughout the course of the movie.
As for a horror movie, then "Ten Minutes to Midnight" just didn't cut it - pardon the pun. The movie was just a bit too stale and mundane. Sure, it proved good enough for a single viewing, but that was about it. This is hardly a movie with the contents to support more than a single viewing.
My rating of the 2020 movie "Ten Minutes to Midnight" settles on a less than mediocre four out of ten stars.

I try hard not to intellectualize horror movies. They are either fun and scary, or they are not. This film was absolutely fun, jolted me a few times, offered a couple of gross out moments I won't soon forget.
"Ten Minutes to Midnight" blended body horror and supernatural elements in a claustrophobic setting that at times was surreal. At 73 minutes, it wastes no time moving the story foreward, propelled by the energy of legendary Caroline Williams as an unsuspecting victim of workplace ageism who experiences a transformaton you'll have to see for yourself.
I loved the films practical effects, and its supporting cast, but most of all that it kept me guessing, and gave me a fun time while doing it.
