This movie was one of the most awaited and controversial movies of Iranian cinema that I was waiting for, a philosophical and mystical story that at the same time deals with war and its consequences, and also deals with a love story. ....
A complete and amazing movie, especially with the beautiful acting of Shahab Hosseini and Ibrahim Celikkol
.
The point that exists is that besides being one of the great Iranian mystics, Rumi and Shams are also among the great poets of Iran. I think their poems should have been used more as a dialogue.
This movie had the ability to be made at least as a mini-series, pay attention, I say at least, because the story has the capacity of a long series, and I don't know why it was not made as a series.
In general, the editing work was good, the jumps to the past and present were well done.
The Farsi dubbing and dubbing of the Turkish actors was poorly done.
All in all, it was a great movie of Iranian and Turkish cinema. I definitely suggest you see it.
And finally, for a better understanding of Shams and Rumi's life, I suggest reading the book The Forty Rules of Love written by Elif safak.

Iran is the most magnificent historical and cultural country in the world with so many great and talented artists, scientists, poets and mystics and those who left great works from literature to epiphany of some books like Shahnameh and Masnavi
Poem by Rumi that in this film they showed some awesome parts of it so these works are from powerful past centuries and millennia. And with all this discrimination and restriction of the government of Iran at the present time we are glad that we can see Iran shine in cinema and other fields. We are so excited to seeing art of Iran again in the the international scenes. Thank to all actors and directors to create the film.
Having delved deeply into the relationship between Molana and Shams, I can confidently say their story is one of the most powerful and stirring narratives of spiritual and emotional connection. Although Intoxicated doesn't exclusively center on their journey, it beautifully distills its spirit, offering viewers a glimpse into that profound love.
The film is more than just a retelling-it's an invitation to reflect. With its exploration of themes like love, war, identity, and societal structures, Intoxicated challenges us to reconsider how we live and relate to the world around us. It urges a conscious embrace of the present and highlights love as a radical force-one that can bridge divides, dissolve prejudice, and even bring peace where there was once conflict.
Ultimately, Intoxicated isn't just a film-it's an experience that stays with you long after the credits roll. It has the power to shift your worldview, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

It is an interesting film about the life of two philosophers and the story of their acquaintance with each other. And compared to many Iranian films, it tells a beautiful story that is very well made.
If we look at the movie as a drama and romance genre, and considering that it is mentioned in the beginning of the movie, "a free take from history", the movie has been able to guide the story well towards the love story of two couples.
BUT if we look at the film as a historical and informative film about the life of two mystics and philosophers, the film has not fulfilled its mission to pay its respects to these two mystics, and it is more of a romantic drama in the Turkish style than a historical film.

This movie is so interesting I am trying not give out the spoiler. We I was at the edge of my seat throughout of the movie. I am not into romance movie but this was a different one . It changes the way I see romance in movies. A well written plot and story kudos to the directors and crews for giving us the privilege to see this masterpiece.
Some people may have preferred the movie to end in another way but this was just so perfect.
The thrilling experience and epic moments in the movie should always be talked about. It has a lot of plot twist in it. Just my kind of story writing movies (Don'tet the viewers know what is coming next)
