This film exemplifies the art of the short film. Not an attempt to be a feature film story told in under 40 minutes; Worth is complex, profound, and has an impact. Not to mention a moving score. All of this transpires in under eight minutes.
I first saw Worth at the LA Shorts Fest last year, one of - from what I understand - over 60 festivals it's played. I've made a point to catch all of the Academy nominated live action shorts for years, and I'd be surprised if Worth didn't get shortlisted this year. It's a fantastic film, and the recognition would be a real game-changer for a filmmaker who deserves it.
