Dark Cycle

Promising idea and could have been great. Obviously a low budget film, with inconsistent sound levels and very dodgy effects. However this, in itself, would not warrent a low rating. I enjoy watching low budget films which are so bad that they become good, but this isn't one of them.

The low rating is because the plot is incomprehensible with no clear story line. It was intriging but it ends with a 'to be continued' message so there is no pay off at the end to justify spending 90 minutes watching this film. A complete 'raised finger' to the viewer.

Finally a comment about the 10/10 reviews, as other reviews state they must be fake. Most of them repeat the same statements and have no relationship to the film I saw. Do not heed these reviews.

Dark Cycle promised an intriguing blend of sci-fi and horror, centring on a sinister beauty corporation secretly run by aliens who abduct young women to harvest their bodies for life extension. A premise like this could make for a gripping critique of consumerism and vanity, but unfortunately, what unfolds is a film that struggles to engage, leaving viewers more frustrated than fascinated. The acting is painfully stiff, with performances that lack conviction. The characters, who should be victims we empathise with, barely register any emotional depth. Instead of terror and urgency, reactions feel mechanical-almost as if the cast counted the minutes until the final scene. With a sluggish pace, a lack of gripping performances, and uninspired effects, it feels like the creators weren't truly trying to craft something compelling.

I feel like I was tricked into watching this film with it's high rating. The synopsis looked promising too. When I saw the obvious poor production value from the start, I was like well maybe it does something clever with the story... I was wrong. Save yourself. It's not even the fun kind of bad. It's just bad.

The story was an incoherent hot mess, and it also just ends, with a "to be continued..." I was left feeling, what the hell did I just watch? Not much actually happens, that isn't covered by the synopsis, and honestly the acting is just awful.

It uses a lot of the bad special effects too, so it just looks a hot mess.

All these fake reviews, notice not one of them mentions what the movie is actually about, or says anything that gives any sign they've even seen it. Plus how many of them even use the same exact few sentences. "The pacing of "Dark Cycle" was tight and relentless - I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire movie."

I wonder who the filmmaker paid to post all this garbage for this terrible movie. This is the most amateurish, poorly-acted, poorly-written, poorly-shot movie I've ever seen, it's like someone got their friends together to shoot a movie and nobody involved had any experience in acting, film, or production.

It's some sort story about aliens in the cosmetic industry. Love the Steve Jobs-type black-turtleneck-wearing lead alien.

It looks like they downloaded some free app to make the digital effects, you can do better than this with an app on your phone. You can probably act better than this, too.

Ordinarily I'd have ignored it but this much dishonesty deserves an honest 1-star review to counterbalance it. Everyone involved in this "movie" should be ashamed of themselves, except whoever got paid by these fools to post all these obviously fake reviews.

In fact, sometimes I'll site through bad movies just out of boredom, but I'm going to stop it and hit thumbs-down on Tubi just to hopefully help this garbage disappear forever.
