Shellfish

I saw you guys at Dances with Films. This is the movie you wish you would come across on Netflix. Unfortunately we all know they are partial to big name actors. ( SIGH. ) Kruko and Bailey absolutely stole the scenes for me! Bailey I just wanted to protect. Awe! Hunter Hopewell did an amazing job with his creation and still managing to pull off a believable character at the same time. I really did laugh out loud at moments. It was also just creatively done with the animation. The actors were all believable. I hope this pops up on a streaming platform somewhere so I can watch it again.

Additionally I noticed that it won awards at 35 Film Festivals with 10 of them being Best of Fest. So this was more than enough motivation for me to check it out. Initially I was able to watch it for free by accessing it with my library card through Hoopla; thinking that if something didn't grab me within the first few minutes, I'm out. Obviously I found it very enjoyable and was particularly pleased that it had the look and feel of movies with a recognizable cast costing much more.

I was worried about the "animation" and how that would play; thankfully it enhances the live action and isn't over done.

The music throughout was pleasing and complementary to the action. The first time writer/director definitely worked his vision well with a cast that appears more experienced than I had anticipated.

When I noticed Shellfish was available on BluRay, I decided to buy it from Amazon, mostly to watch again with family & friends. It's been a winner that many have thanked me for sharing. Hope you like too.

Caught this film at the Orlando Film Festival and it keep me tuned in the whole film. Really fun film, super creative with excellent performances by the actors. Bailey having to film the girl of his dreams making out on camera was my favorite scene. Very funny bits, and a few tugs at the heartstrings. My favorite film at the festival. Well, maybe next to my film. You have to like your own film, but I loved Shellfish!
