Veneer

A film about the life of a cocaine dealer during COVID shot during COVID is the type of story you never forget. I loved it. Funny, charming and uniquely bizarre.

"So what you are stating is that if I start using it...you will leave me alone?"

Too many spoilers to review properly but I loved this movie. It totally caught me off guard like 5 different times and the story continues to evolve until literally the final scene. Best indie ive seen in a very long time 9/10

Hilarious, heartwarming and real. This is independent cinema at it's finest.

I watched this in January 2021 (the middle of COVID) and smiled my ass off for the whole 90 minutes, my wife even liked it eliciting plenty of "awww"s throughout. If you take a chance on this one you won't regret it, a masterclass in originality.

The concept of this film was so unbelievably creative with little effort required to shift your perspective and answer your inevitable "wtf?" This was also a great new way to look at the pandemic with more of a sense of humor, which we all need. The acting is hysterical, and the belly laughs go from start to finish. Highly recommend!

When it comes down to it "Veneer" has won the race in being the first movie about COVID. In 3 years or so I'm sure there will be some big budget movie about the pandemic with Tom Hanks or someone like that and an overly emotional tear-jekrer script.... and when it comes out I'll be thinking of the film about the life of a weirdo cocaine dealer doing business during COVID. The whole movie feels fresh and how the story unravels is far from predictable, one of the best movies I saw all of last year.
