The plot was good but I felt that the acting and execution could have been a little better. Somebody said Ashley, the mother, was over-the-top, but I felt that the best friend, Michelle, was super annoying! Also, the ending was kind of weak. On the plus side, Evan Adams (David Olsen) is a TOTAL BABE! He alone did a good job playing an obsessive, vengeful heartthrob from hell. In my opinion, he is the one who made this movie bearable. More to the point, he's actually the reason I keep watching it, and I look forward to seeing him in more films!
Emily meets new student David at her high school who she starts to develop feelings for. But then David starts to begin stalking her, becoming controlling and getting violent. But why? You will have to turn in to see this Lifetime movie which ends with a bang! And of course, Ms Vivica is along for the ride, too! New actor Evan Adams has a nice acting future ahead of him! Recommend this valentine flick.
I sat down to watch the 2021 TV movie "The Wrong Valentine" mostly because the movie had Vivica A. Fox on the cast list. But I also opted to watch it since it was a movie that I hadn't already seen before.
And I must admit that when I saw that it was a Lifetime movie, then I didn't really harbor much of any expectation to writers Robert Dean Klein, Jeffrey Schenck and Peter Sullivan. But I still opted to watch the movie.
As the movie came to the end, I have to admit that I was actually glad I opted to watch the movie, despite of it being a Lifetime movie, because "The Wrong Valentine" was genuinely entertaining and a good movie. The storyline was well written. Sure, it was predictable and somewhat generic, but the material worked.
The acting performances in the movie were good, and they had some interesting names and talents on the cast list. The lead roles were played nicely by Mariah Robinson (playing Emily) and Evan Adams (playing David). I was especially impressed with Evan Adams and his spot on performance as a mentally unstable stalker. The movie also had a nice performance from Arie Thompson (playing Ashley, Emily's mom) and of course Vivica A. Fox (playing Ms. Connelly). A shame that Vivica A. Fox didn't have more on-screen time.
While "The Wrong Valentine" was an entertaining and very watchable movie, the contents of the storyline and script hardly had enough material to sustain more than a single viewing. However, I will say that you should definitely sit down to watch director David DeCoteau's "The Wrong Valentine" movie if you have the chance. I was genuinely entertained and positively surprised.
My rating of "The Wrong Valentine" lands on a seven out of ten stars.

Predictable movie like most Lifetime movies. The actors were alright. The only one I didn't like was the villain David. Him and the main female actor had no chemistry. I wish they would've had someone more mysterious and better looking for his role. Plus that white head on the side of his nose through the entire movie had me wanting to reach thru the screen and pop it! Yuck. Lol All in all it's still a fun watch.
