A very dull film that thinks it has much more to say than it actually does.
You learn more from the plot synopsis on this site than you do from watching this film. It may have been a good idea in concept but this movie conveys nothing of note to the viewer.
Nothing is explained and there is no set up, pay off or character arc at all within the movie. The motives of any of the people in this film are not explained or developed.
If you want a scathing attack on modern society go watch The Platform or Infinity Pool instead.
The special effects are like something from a Neil Breen film and the poor lighting offers little to show any acting from the main character.
1 star.

They might as well just outright kill you then to put you in a metal box near the ocean and make survive by the "mercies" of the so called citizens of this dystopian nightmare. I found this to be just as the globalists these days are attempting to do by giving everyone a forced digital ID ( put you in a box) then force you to follow their rules to be fed or not fed or travel and not travel (A prisoner ) Same idea here, quite terrifying to say the least. One thing they totally missed is where do these prisoners go to the bathroom? I mean like where? There is no indication of any way they can go and the cube is solid, and all the prisoners never have a poopy floor? Kind of odd. Won't see this one again it was totally hopeless and just a trip into a hell hole and a nightmare. I sure hope our world doesn't end up like this.
A film set in the distant future, telling the experiences of a woman trapped in a metal box. From beginning to end, you will try to understand what happened and why (and fail) for 1 hour and 18 minutes. Although the film is shown in the science fiction category, it is actually a cheap horror film. It cannot be said that there is a plot in the film. The entire film deals with the torturous time of the lead character. Although it tries to make it interesting by adding a few absurd scenes, it is at best boring. By the way, many inconsistent and meaningless events have been added to the film, I guess to give it a cult film atmosphere.
A woman is trapped in a box as part of some future dystopian prison rehabilitation system.
It's more of a horror torture movie. Not really sci fi, anything happening in the future these days is called sci fi.
It's low budget more of a performance from one actress with a few other having 1-2 minute pop ins.
The box is poorly lit adding to the dark depressive feel of the movie. There are some quite disturbing scenes, more implied gore because it's all happening in the dark.
There is maybe some Christian symbology or something going on that I did not understand with Ave Maria playing, or maybe they just choose the song because it's free use who could tell.

I always appreciate a filmmaker's effort to innovate, even if the concept isn't entirely new-as seen in CUBE and other movies where characters are confined in a space. The design and texture of the box in this film are interesting, although the flaws in the visual effects become apparent when viewed from a distance, especially the drones. The lead actress and one of the supporting actors delivered commendable performances. However, the film suffers from overly dark lighting, which detracts from the overall experience.
Although this might be a low or no-budget indie Australian film, budget constraints should not justify poor filmmaking. Unfortunately, the acting, with a few exceptions, was subpar, the story lacked engagement, and the dialogue was weak. The film felt aimless, lacking a clear narrative arc or purpose. I struggled to grasp what the film was trying to convey about a future dystopian society or the significance of the beach setting; a desert might have been more appropriate for the prisoners.
Overall, there isn't much that stands out positively in this film. The writer and director could benefit from studying storytelling techniques to develop a more compelling narrative and journey. I'm sorry to say that I did not enjoy this film especially when you have someone read the intro out loud - that was a cringeworthy moment and a strong indicator to the films impending doom.
