Invisible Monsters: Serial Killers in America

This is a pretty decent show about serial killers.

A lot of other reviews complain about the quote "the golden age of serial killers" but I think this is an appropriate quote. There was some many serial killers active in America during this time period.

The rest of this review is just filler because of the minimum characters allowed for reviews on the Internet Movie Database.

The show going into the killings of BTK, Ted Bundy and many other notorious serial killers, there isn't a lot of new information covered by in the show but if you're interested in serial killers then I think you'll find it interesting.

Maybe this becomes clear in later episodes, but I just finished reading Mindhunter which is about the development profiling by the FBI. Really interesting but seems like one of those experts would have been included in this mini-series. The book does address these serial killers and the FBI involvement as well as the development of the manual now used to classify criminals. Agent John Douglas was front and center and their work included interviewing those already incarcerated so as to learn from them.

If they were invited and declined, then that tells me something about this program.

I will watch a bit more and see if this aspect - the profiling by the FBI, is included.

As stated above this production seems fascinated and almost admiring of serial killers and only has a token few moments for victims. I was sickened by it by ep 2 and had to stop.

I should have understood this was a sick view by the title. The golden age of serial killers.???

I think we need to understand this part of our society, but never celebrate them!

You did bring up a similar thread between Gacy and Dahmer, then blame it on society? What about that that thread is common in about 20 of the 25 most prolific nut jobs

perversion is opposed by society in general for a reason, why try to make it normal in documentaries about serial killing.

It's good content and has some of the best experts for all of these cases involved in the docu-series. The only problem is it jumps back and forth between the 5 cases too much and too often. Makes it difficult to focus on the cases.
