The narrator completely ruins the show. The content is entertaining and interesting enough without the need for street slang and someone trying way too hard to be cute. Rule number one of journalism ( not saying this woman is a journalist ) is you are not the story. The story is the story. I saw the episode where the guy started out faking loan applications and he wound up faking identities and making millions of dollars. Why do we need someone speaking street slang when this was clearly white collar crime. ? Nothing street about it. I couldn't even enjoy the show. Its like watching a documentary about eagles and its being narrated by Donald Duck.
Remy Ma narrating this is just weird. It's almost like she's ad-libbing the story. Just coming all in random. The stories are alright. I get it, they want to cover true crime from a "hood" point of view but, they could have made the stories a little more personal without Remy adding an ad lib. You see how their environment impacted their decisions.
I also get that the narration is trying to make it seem as if the decisions these people were making have some form of innocence to them. People make their own decisions and no one in any of these episodes is innocent. We can sympathize with their story without making it seem like someone was in the wrong for turning them in.

This could have been just fine, it might have even been pretty good if it weren't for the absolute CRINGE narration of Remy Ma and the horrible lines she feels she has to insert into the stories. This should would be so much more enjoyable if they just told the story and didn't have the totally obnoxious dialogue from Remy Ma.
Girl gets in front of the camera, I was this, I was that bad ass. Then a friend comes in front of the camera. She was such a badass. Another friend, so was so wild n crazy.
Cut to a few scenes with actors, then back to interviews. And repeat and repeat.
Even if this is to believed, it's complete trash tv, all scripted and it's too boring to find out what happens.

Rema Ma's narration is on point with valid comments on how people of color at times, are unjustifiably treated by the justice system. For sure, the tales are cautionary and promotes how doing the right thing, although it may not be easy, is always the best way to go.
Remy has a sound grasp on how to spin a tale with perfect inflection and expression. The New York accent is a treat. Vh1 got this one right.
