The text of this project is from the opening of the original 2008 full-length theatrical production by the same title, written, directed, and performed by Rosie Malek-Yonan, in Hartford, CT. The stories of An Assyrian Exodus are based on Malek-Yonan's personal family journals and war-time diaries written during the final exodus of the Assyrians forced to flee from Urmia, Iran in 1918 after a brutal four-year period of the genocide of the Assyrians people.
