Letters at Christmas

This is far from the worst thing I have ever seen but it's far from being The Godfather. The biggest consensus from all the reviews is the dialog or the writing in general. Everything is completely predictable and the dialog is clunky and awkward with zero character development. I'm unsure what method was used in developing the script, it just seemed that the end goal was to get this done asap and the movie is a complete wreck as a result. The acting is quite stale and the camera shots seem kind of uninspired. So-so production, but I seem to doubt the 3 million dollar price tag that is listed.

Even as a Christmas movie or a Lifetime knockoff, this movie is flat out terrible.

I suppose they thought having Dean Cain (whoop) or someone that worked on Star Wars as their cinematographer would help to whitewash Jim Burleson's obvious lack of talent.

The script and dialog are terrible. The finishes product only proves that besides the fact that Jim Burleson does not know how to make a movie, he does not know how to write.

Bad dialog, forced situations, cliches, contrived and predictable plot... blah, blah, blah. I cannot believe that $3 million dollars (yeah, right!) was spent on this turkey. Not even a fraction of that. It would take 10 times that amount to repair that dilapidated hotel this filmed at.

This was a terrible debut as a writer/auteur, and it's obvious that the only thing giving "Dim" any credibility are his comic conventions.

There wasn't anything keeping me in this movie while I watched it. I never got invested in anything. Junior is the most interesting character because I never knew what was going on with that guy, what's he gonna do next, is he scatterbrain or what? The actors seem good but aren't given great dialogue to work with. Some shots could end far sooner than they do. The premise is reasonable, a parent trap- kind of thing, but I didn't like it as much as I wanted to. I didn't think that any character liked anyone else that much, except Nadia and the kids. Maybe I wasn't listening with the volume up loud enough but I didn't seem to hear much background music and it made everything feel tense. I was reminded of Birdemic multiple times while watching but without the CGI and dancing. And birds.

This is such a perfect film for this time of year. Forgiveness and love. The perfect holiday movie!! Enjoy with the whole family. Great job to cast and crew. A movie to truly be proud of!! Once you start you can't turn it off. This is now part of my yearly Holiday collection. Miracle on 34th, a Christmas story, it's a wonderful life, Charlie Brown Christmas. Now Letters at Christmas. I don't want to spoil it for you so I am trying to not reveal any part. Please go enjoy this, instant classic, with the whole family. Fall in love with the meaning of Christmas all over again!!!
