This is a great production that is very entertaining, but just like they exist in London, we have them here in the States, and they hate everything that showcases Black people. One hater wrote, "The great reason why kids on crack shouldn't write scripts for TV series kertantal6" The review was eventually deleted.
Encourage your friends and family to watch the series and to write a positive review. If you wish to see season two, let's not leave it in their hands to destroy this worthy series.
"When five regular South Londoners find they have extraordinary abilities, it is up to one guy to pull them all together to save the lady he loves."
It sounds like something that has been done before to include all the gang stuff, but this is an excellent show that is easily binge-worthy. Again, it's not exactly new in concept, but the approach that was taken and the acting make it enjoyable throughout every episode; it doesn't disappoint.
Writer/Director Rapman and the ensemble cast did a great job. Hopefully this will go into a second season; the entire team, along with Nadine Mills, aka Sabrina, who is gorgeous, deserves it. I'm looking forward to more Supacell.

I'm sure I'm not the first to make this comparison, but this show "borrows" so much from the 2006 NBC show "Heroes" its hard not to. Like, the time-related premise of the first season is literally ripped straight from season one of Heroes. The whole interconnected stories of different people whose paths eventually cross, some hand-wave explanation of how they acquired said powers, it has all been done before. I don't think this is neccesarily a bad show, but as it stands currently it just really doesn't do anything original enough to make it stand out from all the other shows about superpowers. If you haven't seen "Heroes" then you might enjoy this show, but as superhero shows go its just alright.
Well, what can I say? After watching the trailer, I binged the entire first season of Rapman's Supacell in one sitting. I'm excited to do the same for season 2 and see where the story goes. It reminded me of Top Boy and Misfits but with its own unique style. If you enjoyed those series, this is definitely worth a watch. The show has intriguing characters and a compelling storyline.
If you're a film junkie like myself then you'll appreciate the time and effort that Rapman and everyone else put in to make this happen.
I enjoyed it. Not my place to say where it could have been improved. It is what it is.
Thank you.

This feels like a comic literally put on screen without adapting. So many plot holes and scenes that just wouldn't happen (even without the powers) but overall still fun.
Nice to see some good representation and the acting is good. The biggest let down is the awful black stereotypes put on display. This was a great chance to dispel some of those old myths but this just reinforces the young gangster vibes, the deadbeat dad, the difficult woman who is also just a push over for her man etc. Could have used the chance so much better.
Saving grace is that the story is fun and makes for easy going watching.
Not original, a lot lifted from other shows like Misfits but still good fun.

There have been a million series about superheroes and the powers of the main cast. Nothing new here. But, the overall story is unique. London is a nice spot. Showing us the different black immigrant classes is a very refreshing take - virtually everything I can think of set in London pretend they don't exist. The gangster undertones/stories are also interesting, if only to see how it differs from the US. I think the characterizations are pretty good, and the acting is excellent. All that said, this isn't a masterpiece of TV. But it is way more entertaining than the Marvel drivel of recent years.

- QuizThe series was announced as commissioned by Netflix in November 2021 with Mouktar Mohammed and Henrietta Lee of New Wave as executive producer and associate producer. The executive producers are Anna Ferguson and Steve Searle of Netflix with Mark Hedges as series producer. The production used a specialized ARRI 35 camera which has been designed to show Black skin in the best and most complimentary way.
- BlooperIn the final battle scene Michael begs Dionne to get in the car and drive to hospital. But he had already shown that in battle he could grab people in an instant and take them anywhere and be straight back. Considering the whole season was about saving Dionne's life it was odd he didn't just teleport her to safety then head straight back.
