There's nothing much to say about this movie except that it was fairly decent. There wasn't anything egregious about it, but there also wasn't anything that stood out. It's a pretty cute, pretty enjoyable light-hearted movie that doesn't offend in any big way. The only issue I had, which if not would have made the movie much better, was that you just couldn't really root for the main character. There's just so much to dislike, and while that's of course part of what the movie is really about, it also makes it difficult to want to see him succeed or change for the better. A little more redeeming qualities in the main character would have made the experience much more personal and empathetic. But it's still not too much of a deal breaker. The movie is good enough to help pass the time with some decent entertainment.
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is a film that positions itself as a family-friendly offering with a story that aims to appeal to a wide range of audiences. A film with an interesting story on paper that fails to translate into a compelling cinematic experience. While the premise promises an engaging blend of sports and relationship drama, the execution leaves much to be desired, resulting in a movie that feels half-hearted and unsatisfying.
One of the film's few saving graces is its cast. Rajkummar Rao delivers a natural and convincing performance. Janhvi Kapoor, though not outstanding, puts in a commendable effort, with her dedication to her role and the sport of cricket evident on screen. Zarina Wahab also manages to shine in her limited screen time. Kumud Mishra and Rajesh Sharma were fine in their roles.
The story, though brimming with potential, suffers from a screenplay riddled with loose ends. The movie becomes predictable, juggling between cricket and jealousy without fully committing to either. However, the cricket sequences lack the necessary thrill and excitement, falling flat and failing to capture the intensity of the sport. Musically, the film falls short of delivering chart-topping hits, but the songs are well-integrated into the narrative.

If you want to see a really good movie with your family, and also be inspired by it, then this is it!
Why the hate, guys? It is a movie with family values and faith & trust between couples which is based on the background of cricket.
So if you don't like cricket, don't watch it, period. This movie is not for everyone. In fact, any movie cannot be made for everyone's taste!
Dharma Productions and Sharan Sharma, the Director, have done a great job, in making a clean, no-nonsense movie.
Thankfully they have kept religion out of it, and also, there are no long shots of mosques etc..you know what I mean 😜
I cannot understand why sometimes people go to great lengths to unnecessarily criticize a good, well made movie, with great family values. What's the point? But, they will enjoy is a Jawan, Pathan, Animal..etc with their senseless & brainless bang bang!
Hey, don't get me wrong, I am not against big budget block busters, they have their time & place & they have their budgets! They make it happen.
But, if we don't come out and see & show our support for good family values movies, then all these production houses will not make such good movies and only make mindless movies!
So, with that out of the way, let me say that this movie is great, every actor is chosen wisely and they have all done a wonderful job!
All are polished artists and they have delivered. The surprise package is our Zareena Wahab Ji! Good to see you again, Ma'am, you nailed your character!
I read a review where someone who "has" to be an expert cricket coach of State, or National level, or maybe he/she is from International cricketing level.. as that person has given 'expert comments' in the review..something like, 'the characters chosen don't have cricketing bodies.' Wah! What an observation!! (Kamaal ka diya! Jab Aap ka 'Hero' dus/bees admiyon ko ek saath thook deta hai, tab aap kuch kyon nahi bolte? 😜)
Jokes aside, this is a good movie with a very good moral. Wherever (world over) family values among family members and love between couples are cherished, this movie should be watched! Go for it, you will not regret!

Great message. It reinforces the idea that true fulfillment comes from inner happiness, not public recognition. It's deeply emotional and all the actors gave their 100%. I would be surprised if this movie doesn't receive the recognition it deserves. While Indian cinema faces challenges, some creators are determined to deliver their best. This film proves that a good script and talented acting are all you need to produce a quality movie, no need for foreign locations, songs, dances, or other conventional Bollywood elements. The dedication and passion shine through in every scene. It's a must watch if you thing you are putting too much energy to impress others.
The biggest problem with cricket-based movies is that the protagonist doesn't look like a batsman at all. When I look back at all the cricket-based movies where the protagonist is a cricketer, especially a batsman, they don't convincingly portray a batsman. From their stance to their shots, they don't resemble an batsman at all. No matter how much you practice, you can't perfect your cricket style if you haven't been playing since childhood. It's time for aspiring actors to start practicing cricket, football, and other sports from a young age.
Additionally, the screenplay often doesn't feel natural. Especially in the second half, many elements seem forced to create drama. Rajkumar and the other actors performed beautifully, except for Janhvi. Her expressions were good, but her dialogue delivery was unconvincing. Overall, it's a decent one-time watch.
