Bekas

I saw "Bekas" on SVT (Swedish television) today when I had a meal at a pizzeria. I was so mesmerized by the visual language and the cleverness of story being told that I didn't want to leave even though I had finished of my plate.

The plot, two orphans, six and nine years old, in the Kurdish parts of Iraq navigating through their daily life without any adult advisory or care. The short is told in a warm, loving and humorous manner, but lays bare the difficulties that street children experience in general, concerning poverty, trust, violence and education. The two young actors, Zamand Taha and Sarwar Fazil, put of a splendid performance. The movie reminded me in a way of City of God (Cidade de Deus).

It was a good movie or I should say a short moviemmmmmmmm
