I have to disagree with reviewer Lorraine-113, this was an outstanding series with plenty of nailbiting moments and intrigue.

The spies act as one would expect when concerning emotion, they don't show it as it would be seen as a sign of weakness.

There are plenty of edge of your seat moments and more than a few plot twists.

The bad guys were that good you want to see them die painfully as their brutality knew no bounds.

This beats watching the detritus that is British TV which seems to be more concerned with naff humour, terrible reality shows, quizzes and cookery shows.

The story had potential, but too much of the acting felt hollow. Many of the actors, including several leads, seemed to be simply reciting lines without emotional depth. As a French Canadian, I really wanted to enjoy this series, but I found it disappointing. It feels like the actors haven't developed a backstory for their characters, or at least don't convey one. When they speak about past events, it doesn't feel real, as if they lack the mental imagery that makes a performance believable. For example, one actress talks about having been tortured, but there's no emotional weight behind her words. You can't see or feel what she's describing. I watched the entire first season hoping it would improve, but sadly it didn't. I won't be continuing with season two.
