Arranged (2022) :
Short Film Review -
Arranged marriage is the most traditional and most commonly used system for marriages in India. However, the modern day definition of marriage has changed due to love stories, affairs, websites, online matrimonials, and social media. Still, arranged marriage hasn't gone out of fashion and will never go out of fashion. It was, is, and will remain the most popular marriage system in our country. But did you ever think that modern-day thoughts could be matched by this old-fashioned system called "arranged marriage"? Two peculiar people with insanely advanced thoughts and several rejections can find a perfect match for each other, and you don't need love marriage or any digital services for that. Arranged marriage is the right thing because it gives you a chance to meet a stranger whom you can find better than many digitally known people. Amazon Mini TV's latest mini movie, "Arranged," arranges things in perfect order to leave you all with some mind-blowing thoughts. Warning: they are not for normal people.
Arranged is a story about two young people, Richa and Tarun. At a formal meeting to arrange the marriage, Tarun (Ritwik Dhanjani) and Richa (Tridha Chaudhary) and their parents meet each other. During the conversation, Tarun reveals several facts that have caused multiple rejections in the past, while Richa too feels comfortable disclosing her secrets. They both discover new things about each other that don't seem normal (for so-called normal people). However, their incredibly peculiar nature may find it right, but will that make things work? Find all the surprising answers in this short ride.
The mini movie has got a total of six faces to show in 20 minutes, so you can imagine how engaging the show is. Ritwik Dhanjani is as honest as his character is. He wears specs like Harry Potter (because he's a reader, that part is damn intelligent and humorous), he is straightforward and very socialised about things happening all around him. No doubt, every woman is going to love his character and his performance too. Finding a girl like Tridha Chaudhary in real life is difficult, but if somehow you find her, believe me, it will be difficult for you to keep her away. Tridha plays such a nice part here, and she looks damn natural with everything she does. In the supporting roles, Neelu Kohli, Raju Kher, Praveena Deshpande, and Ravi Khemu look good enough.
Arranged is beautifully written by Sharanya Rajagopal. These thoughts are way ahead of their time and have the power to bring about a big social change for many reasons. Whether it is about female issues, the population, or people's thinking about being normal, Arranged is capable of teaching them something about progressive ideas and processes. Santosh Vasandi's frames feel like a home, and Gandhaar Sangoram's score sounds fresh. Ritesh Memon has a respectable amount of experience in his kitty, from writing to editing, assisting, and directing a few projects. That's why he knows how to handle his craft without losing the pace and main essence of the narrative. With Arranged, he successfully manages to tell a sweet tale with plenty of bitter truths about society. That's not the combo you'd like to miss, right? Overall, "Arranged" is worth 20 minutes of your life. This arranged marriage of two eccentric people should provoke major social change.
