Very entertaining, and there was a lot of suspense. Every character was different, many layers. Actress 'Hazel' - great actress, deserve roles in theatres in blockbusters. I liked every other role too, hovewer white males was... kinda boring and not there. I liked the plot and I am glad we have an ending without cliffanger. My only regret - episodes are to short. I prefer 5x 50 minutes instead 10 x 20 minutes.
Show is fresh, original. I reccomend it to everybody. Taking 2 stars for episodes length and nose rings - I dont like to watch them on anybody. But earrings was so beautiful, every women had amazing earings. Costumes was also good.

Now I want to read the book that the series is based on. The acting and writing are great, and the twists and turns between the two main characters, Nella and Hazel, are excellent and will keep you guessing from episode to episode.
I don't usually binge watch, but the end of every episode was filled with such a cliff hanger that I felt compelled to watch the next episode. It even made me put down my knitting!
Hulu has produced some great original movies and series. I would encourage folks who are into suspense and drama to give this a try.
My only complaint is that the chemistry between Nella and her BF seem forced, if not non-existent, and also, her best friend is a little extreme. Both took me out of the "willing suspension of disbelief," but the show was otherwise worth my time.

I only intended to watch the first episode, but I couldn't stop. I *had* to find out what happened, and I wasn't disappointed, even though I stayed up way too late to finish it.
It's a tribute to the actors that they were able to show the increasing layers of their characters as the story went on and became more complex. Multiple sides of many issues emerged, and one important lesson I took away from The Other Black Girl is that there are no easy or simple answers to problems. It left me wanting more, and it seems that there is more to this story than one season revealed. So, let me just say: bring it on!

This series is riveting and spot on to the journey of many black women rising within our respective careers. To witness the experiences that so many black women live etched out on screen in a way that beautifully personifies the pain, the challenges, and the hope that many of us work to balance on a daily basis is an invigorating journey. You will be coaxed to laugh, pushed to cry, and inspired to ponder the question of what such a powerful and beautiful race of people can accomplish if we could let go of the pervasive pain of slavery's haunting past. Well done, Miss Harris. Season 2...#UpNext please...
Disappointed this has been cancelled I thought it was a pretty good physcological thriller.
The "slight" horror aspect in the trailer is what drew me in. It ended up not really going that way too much but it was still a small part of the show I liked. The score & the lighting was part of that as well.
Great acting & casting. Everyone except Eric McCormack & Bellamy Young were new to me but they all nailed it especially the main 2 ladies. Was suspicious of "Hazel" right away.
Wanted to see "Nella & Co." win but the disappointing ending makes it impossible to know what actually happens.
Nella, Malaika, & Owen have a goofy Scooby-Doo crew thing going on lol.
Everyone needs a friend like Malaika lol her strong personality got on my nerves at first but her loyalty to Nella grew on me.
Some small funny parts. Poor Sophie lol.
Did not like where the ending seemed to be leading & it seems like there was supposed to be a 2nd season so it's just left too open.
Will probably go read the book now.

- QuizThe first piece of music that Nella listens to on on the subway is the 1998 song "Gimme Some More" by Busta Rhymes. This song famously sampled some tension-filled violin riffs from Bernard Herrmann's score to Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 horror classic Psycho. This music quickly signals that this will be a story that tips toward the horror genre, told through a Black lens.
