My issue comes down to production's irresponsible ignorance of the facts. Theres been a minimum of 5 docs about this case. We ALL KNOW she cut her hair. All her interviews were with her hair cut. ALSO the person that found her was a man, you can hear it in the 911 call. Im okay with dramatizing and taking certain liberties, but c'mon.. how does your art/HMU department overlook that? I'm just not a fan of entire projects greenlighted to have such important things overlooked. Lifetime, we know you arent quality entertainment, but why skimp on simple things?
Don't waste your time.
It's not the acting as eluded to in a previous review. It's the story arc. There's no point of view, no empathy, & the personalities too off.
I remember this case although I didn't remember the old boyfriend. For whatever reason, this Lifetime movie feels flat. I had hopes that I would love Jaime King's performance. She's always been great fun. This role is different and she's almost robotic. I never get a sense of her character. Also, the story is known from the start and none of it holds any surprise. All of it adds up to a flat telling of the story.

Detective Molly Rowlands: [pulls out a sheet of paper, reads it] 'My skin is my pride. I lunged at those Latino women who called me a Nazi and beat them until they bled.'
[shows the message to Sherri]
Detective Molly Rowlands: Did you write this?
Sherri Papini: Never seen that.
Detective Molly Rowlands: I think you have. I think you wrote it. Mrs. Papini, not only have you ruined your family... but your racist behavior has damaged Redding forever. You stole precious resources away from REAL victims.
Sherri Papini: I'm the victim!
