I'm being generous with a 6 rating, I just thought the premise of the movie was interesting, and I already enjoy this genre, so I wanted to give it a shot. Drive Back was just good enough to keep me watching. I was entertained throughout and it had a few twists. The acting isn't too bad but a little cheesy at times, could just be the dialogue. I won't give any spoilers but the plot has lots of holes, you just have to suspend belief in some scenes, I had to do this a few times until the movie became a bit confusing and convoluted towards the end. I still thought the movie was good enough to sit through without it being too boring...
"Drive Back" is an exciting 10/10 movie that mixes fun and fear. The story is about a couple who are coming home from their engagement party, but their trip takes a scary turn when they meet strange people in the woods. The spooky scenes and beautiful pictures make you feel like you are right there with them. The actors do a great job showing how scared they are. Each surprise in the story keeps you guessing, and it doesn't use the same old tricks that other scary movies do. The tension builds up really well, leading to an amazing ending that will leave you surprised. For anyone who loves thrilling stories, "Drive Back" is a must-see movie that you will remember long after watching it. It shows how quickly a happy moment can change into something scary, making it a perfect choice for a fun movie night!
The first half of the movie was going in circles and nothing happened. The movie lost me almost at the first quarter when I didn't care about the characters anymore.
Some of the scenes were too long, with basic dialogues and poor acting. At some point I just wanted the movie to be over.

Now, while I had indeed never heard about this 2024 horror movie titled "Drive Back", I opted to watch it on account of it being a horror movie. Sure, I didn't know what I was getting into here, aside from whatever little information was shared by the movie's synopsis. So in a sense, I suppose, then writer Jon Sarro and director Cody Ashford had every opportunity to impress and entertain me.
Writer Jon Sarro put together a fair enough movie, at least for the most parts. However, I have to say that the movie sort stagnates into the final third part, and my interest in the narrative started to wane. There just simply wasn't all that much going on to keep me overly entertained. Perhaps I've just watched too many horror movies of a similar theme and thus found "Drive Back" to sort of be a bit vague.
I was actually not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, aside from actor Zack Gold, and that is indeed something that I enjoy whenever I sit down to watch a movie; seeing new and unfamiliar talents on the screen, without associating them with previously portrayed characters in other movies. The acting performances in "Drive Back" were good.
I found "Drive Back" to be a semi-suitable enough movie for a single viewing, though this was hardly a movie I would recommend. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.
My rating of "Drive Back" lands on a four out of ten stars.

A couple are heading through the woods and need to get some directions from the stereotypical creepy hill billies. Good idea to follow their advice ... ?
No surprises much in the first act. Dialog keeps the movie entertaining but as the second act kicks in, the movie feels like it is probably going somewhere interesting.
It's main idea has been done before many times (I won't quote other movies as it'll give that away easily) but it's handled well and, for the most part, hangs together and is a good watch.
The third act is where the movie starts to come apart a bit and becomes a bit of a jumble of nonsense. Yes it went downhill but no, the movie wasn't wrecked as it wasn't already on some incredible high ground.
I think with a bit of spit and polish and some better ideas in the last act, this could have been very good. As it stands, it's a worthwhile watch if you're stuck for a movie one evening.
