Grown Living Single
Wow, I was surprised that this '90 style women's sitcom was funny (though cheesy at times) and was able to talk about serious topics without losing the comedy. Great to see so many beautiful, talented sista's leading a show without a dominant masculinity present. Was surprised by Tisha Campbell characters. It was not like her usually roles she's played in the past, but she played that character well. Hoping for a season 2!
***Netflix Pick This Show Up***
Could have did without the children storyline; though it did bring up some Gen Z topics. It's easy to binge. All these ladies are comedic power houses.

Love this show!!
Being a lady in my prime at 57, I relate so much to this well put together comedy! Having "grown up" with these actresses over the years, it's quite refreshing to see these women at the top of their game! And even though people want to compare ACT YOUR AGE to the classic Golden Girls, I urge viewers to watch ACT YOUR AGE for it's own unique type of comedy! I rarely laugh out loud at typical sitcoms but this one right here.... HITS HOME!! Did anyone catch Tisha Campbell's (Keisha) Easter egg from SCHOOL DAZE? I do hope BOUNCE TV keeps ACT YOUR AGE in rotation for many seasons to come! BRAVA ladies!!
The kids gotta go
I am loving this show so so much seeing all the lady's I grew up with in the 90s with.
But dam the daughter and sons story lines are so annoying and taking away from the otherwise amazing show with just the moms. The kids don't need a storyline they are there ok yes you told us now get them the hell out of the show they are dragging the show down. The story they have about the kids I don't care at all it's such crappy acting and they don't work well together so please in the 2nd season get rid of the kids and just stick with the mom roomies the 3 women can definitely hold the show all on there own. I'm sure a lot more people agree with me.

Funny sometimes, but also corny and inappropriate
I've been watching this show for the last month. At first I enjoyed it, but my opinion of it has kind of changed. The cast is legendary, that's for sure. Keisha (Tisha Campbell), Angela (Yvette Brown), and Bernadette (Kym Whitley) share an apartment together. The storyline of the episodes are centered around their differing personalities and the challenges of getting older. I'm not in the same stage of life as they are, but as an African American woman, it's nice to see a black version of the Golden Girls. That along with Sex and the City are two female shows I can't relate to. Black people's representation in the media has historically been, and still is, negative, so the concept itself is refreshing.
With that being said: yes, there are funny moments. However, the writing could use some work. The cringey one-liners and fake laugh track become old really quick. Plus the jokes are often bawdy. Especially from Keisha. She talks nonsense and it stops being funny after a while. A woman in her 50s who's still promiscuous and getting smashed wouldn't have friends in real life. What other 50-something wants to hang around another person of the same age group who's stuck in their 20s? To tell the truth, I've never actually laughed watching this... I chuckled. I might've had a semi-laugh a couple of times. I don't think black TV shows will ever be hilarious like Sanford and Son. I can watch reruns of that to no end. The jokes weren't always the cleanest, but the characters never talked about "riding" people or any of that junk. And the whole on again/off again romance between Angela's daughter and Bernadette's son is getting sappy. I wish they would just decide whether or not they want to take their friendship to the next level!
Also, the previous episode was boring and weird. Nothing else happens besides them playing spades. Exciting much? Wait, it gets even more ridiculous. They make a tournament out of it by inviting other people in their building, and everybody plays dirty. Bernadette invites her son's ex-girlfriend to play, knowing Angela's daughter would be there. That was a strategy to throw off both of them. And then Keisha cheats. They were all just being immature and stupid. I know it's only television, but when characters are petty in a sitcom, that reminds me of people I've encountered, and that's when it ceases to be funny. I hope that was just a one time thing and the next episodes are better. Because that makes me wonder who this show is geared towards. The ghetto demographic perhaps? My IQ isn't exceptionally high, but I need more happening in a comedy show besides people turning on each other during a card game. Act Your Age is decent overall, but I can see it going downhill like many other sitcoms.

Loving it so far
I am loving this story of three vibrant, energetic middle aged African American women who are not trying to be younger than they are, but are living life on their terms despite all the ups and downs. The comedic timing between the three actors, Tisha Campbell, Nicole Brown and Kim Whitley is flawless. The chemistry between them is undeniable. Each character has her own distinct personality. Keisha (Tisha Campbell) is a free-spirit. Angela (Yvette Nicole Brown) is kind of straight-laced. Bernadette (Kym Whitley) is ambitious. They all live together in Bernadette's high-rise apartment where Bernadette owns the building. This show, so far, is funny and entertaining. Keep up the good work.
