Too many times in horror movie sequels, it attempts to just rehash the exact same movie as the first one. But M3GAN 2.0 takes a letter from two other great horror franchises. Like Terminator 1 to Terminator 2, and Alien to Aliens, M3GAN 2.0 deviates from the horror formula and injects action and comedy blended with horror elements. It's nothing new, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself laughing and psyched up for many moments of the film. The tone was much more about the action and fighting than jumpscares and thrills, which I found myself enjoying, otherwise it would've felt too much like a clone of the first one.
Also, the theming of this movie really compliments many real world discussions and dilemmas about AI and its involvement in our lives. So there were many moments where it hit a little closer to home, maybe too close at some points, actually putting a quiet sense of dread in my mind about a possible AI revolution.
The movie wasn't perfect, and there were a few moments that I cringed, however, I can absolutely say that enjoyed so many more moments that I left the movie feeling satisfied and thrilled with the assortment of fist fights, gun fights, thrashed metal and bloody messes.

Good news first:
-It's a better movie than the first one. There are a lot more action scenes because the budget has doubled.
-It can also satisfy the audience in terms of science fiction. The genre of the movie has already changed, this movie is action-sci-fi. So M3GAN is no longer a horror movie.
-There are good references to old movies.
-Beautiful Ivanna Sakhno, who we saw in Ahsoka, is very good in her role.
Now the bad news:
-Unfortunately, it can't fulfill its 2-hour running time. Too much unnecessary dialog. It's not easy to follow them.
-This time they made M3gan's face with CGI. Whereas the mask in the first movie looked much more realistic.
-It could have been a little more fun. The movie takes itself a bit seriously and contains very few jokes.
-There are some logic flaws in the movie.
In short, it's definitely a watchable movie.

Coming off the success of the original, this sequel seemingly shaped the new tonal direction off of the responses to the cultural marketing of its predecessor. While the first M3GAN calls horror its home, it's hardly that scary and also lacking in body counts and often suspense. This movie doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't, and instead leans into the action and humor so easily available to such a campy, Y2K/WarGames/Terminator 2 style film. The fight sequences were gorgeous, there were more kills than the original, and I still found myself laughing harder than I have in a long while at a screening. The reprisal roles are as solid as ever, and each new cast member fills their roles perfectly without any character feeling redundant or unimportant. Ultimately and obviously subjectively, I can't offer up a 10/10 due to my disappointment at this not containing more horror elements. That being said, as a mostly horror fanatic, this was such a fun experience and still checked so many of my typical movie-going boxes.
Side note: I won't speak at all about any of the tech jargon and tropes because I truly Do Not Care about their place in this movie. I like to imagine most movies as universes outside of our own, and I'm perfectly content hearing pseudo-Trekian nonsense interspersed throughout dialogue because like... it's fun. It isn't overly cyberpunk or techno-fascist "in your face"ism, it's camp and fun. Well worth a watch of your own IMO.

She's back - smarter, sassier, and somehow even more unhinged than before.
M3GAN 2.0 is everything you want in a sequel like this. It's fun, it's chaotic, it's completely self-aware - and it knows exactly what kind of film it is. No pretence, no filler, just pure killer doll camp with a glossy finish and razor-sharp one-liners.
The plot? Honestly, barely matters. You're here to watch M3GAN wreak havoc in style - and she absolutely delivers. Think TikTok-era Terminator, but with better outfits and even more attitude. The dance moves are back (of course), but so is the biting satire, the tech paranoia, and the kind of crowd-pleasing gore that has you grinning one moment and gasping the next.
One unexpected standout? Ukrainian-American actress Ivanna Sakhno, who plays AMELIA, a military-grade android. She's stunning, has incredible screen presence, and honestly gives off major Elizabeth Olsen vibes. Like... twin-level resemblance. More of her in everything, please.
Is it high art? No. But it never pretends to be. It's campy, clever, and completely entertaining from start to finish. If you loved the first, you'll be living for this one. And if you didn't? Well... M3GAN doesn't care. She'll come for you anyway!!

First of all, I have to admit I'm a fan of the 1st movie and when they first announced that they were making a sequel, I was super excited about it. So, when I first watched the official teaser of the movie I liked it, even though I had mixed feelings about it. Eventually, it was a nice sequel, but I'm not sure if enjoyed it the same as I did with the original movie. The movie synopsis was very interesting, mysterious and kinda different than the previous movie. Unfortunately, the storyline wasn't as well-written as the first movie and it was different than the previous one. The main characters were still kinda interesting, well-developed and likeable. The casting choices were nice and their performances were descent. Sadly, this movie wasn't as scary as the previous movie and the tone of this movie was comedic. Regarding the killcount of the movie, it wasn't bloody, at all and only some kills were kinda nice. In my opinion, the first movie's killcount was way better and the death scenes were far more brutal. At least, it was a very intense movie, action-filled and the fight scenes were great. The opening scene was predictable, fast-paced and very promising. The ending was kinda predictable and it was just nice. In my opinion, the plot twist was kinda unpredictable, but it wasn't really shocking and I'm not really a fan of it. Moreover, the cinematography and the score of the movie were both very well done and the CGI effects were great. Overall, "M3GAN 2.0" was just a nice sequel, adventurous and kinda funny sometimes, but it wasn't scary, at all! So, I would probably recommend it to my friends, but I think the fans of the 1st movie might not like it.
