Strangers Again

My review is very positive. In fact, I haven't seen a KDrama lately where there are so unexpected turns - and some of them funny, and some hit home. If your in law or have been divorced you can relate to this series. First, the laws around divorce are so different American vs. Korean; how the Lawyers address their clients on the moral issue at hand, what constitutes the right for divorce and alimony. Second, the couples in this series are perfectly matched, each dealing with their own past and set of beliefs which ultimately determines their future with someone.

Divorce is not selective and can happen to anyone at anytime for a multitude of reasons. There's various scenarios played out and it never gets dull with people and their emotions in times of stress. The families portrayed are victims as well because of the dissolution or unmet promises from unfaithful partners.

Watching this show, I am reminded that it's hard work to have a career plus dating, getting married, having a baby, or getting divorced and is a lot of emotional stress.

Very well done. Worth to watch if your interested in the theme.

Korean Drama " Strangers Again " is a law romantic drama.

The series embends the divorce-family cases nicely with the main plot, though some of them weren't that interesting and got tiring to follow. The main plot, on the other hand, had some originality and the interactions of the two main leads were entertaining, as the couple's dynamics were spot on. The second couple was enjoyable as well.

However, the romance was boring and got into circles of dead end choices. The tropes that were used were boring and the drama ended up with a messy pace. The conclusion, at least, was more original compared to the rest of the love story.

The performances, finally, were all great by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, three out of ten.

If the director and writer left open for a season 2 then I get what the director intended. If Season 2 doesn't occur then this ending is going to be one of the worse I have seen in a K drama. The holes in the ending are gaping. I am believing this is how they intentionally ended it though with artistic impression. If true the director and writer need to never work in this field again. The main actors are actually pretty good and not to blame for what happened. The studio should of thrown this one in the trash and never put the show on any platform or at least fired the director and writer to fix the incomplete mess. The director and the writer might be nice or even great people, but this is a business where the customer expects a conclusion and not a thinking process of creating your own ending. Using a title as a way to escape the ending was a shame. I am going to create my own ending right now. They were doing a good old fashioned western 10 step and draw competition at the end. Whoever has the fastest trigger wins. Except one character decides to do 9 steps and wins because they knew they had no chance. He or she goes down for the count and the show is over. I would of accepted the ending like that even though no one would be happy, but at least some kind of conclusion. To finish off this review a second season is very very very rare for Korean shows even if the ratings are high. They don't follow the normal USA way of doing shows of high ratings gets a renewal.

I was really enjoying this drama UNTIL episode 12! I didn't actually realize it was finished, and kept coming back waiting for episode 13. For some reason I had 99% English translation and I guess I missed a sentence or something at the end and when I realized that was it I was so disappointed. I thought that the ML was going to counseling, and the babysitting he mentioned of his niece and nephew was part of the treatment to get over his fear of having children and that the statement they both made at the end in their minds left it open for them eventually. My hope is that it was left deliberately like this to make room for another season.....

If they add a season, I will return here and give it more stars later.
