Pink for the Masses

Normally I don't like these kinda films. The vomit gore genre is my least favorite of the extreme horror genre. But Pink For The Masses is one that I found myself transfixed by. Mind you this is more of art film comparably to any of the other crap that Samhel, Jack Mulvanerty and Lucifer Valentine are shilling out. It's light on the vomit and gore but it comes swinging with style. It's a little too artsy fartsy at times, but for a little under an hour I found that it moved quickly enough and never wore out its welcome. I wish the ending was a little crazier but over all I enjoyed this darkly erotic horror.

A chilling Horror to say the least. Within this film, characterized by scenes of violent nudity, fluctuating shots equal to flows of evil energy that wanders in the places of action, we see the Stockholm Syndrome in all its raw obscenity. It is sublimated here, it is made a reason for living. The jailer is not a simple jailer, but a tender lover. The protagonist, without him, would feel lost and abandoned in a world where there seems to be only them. The protagonist has not lived (at least in appearance) a life different from that of many of her peers: she tenderly remembers her father who reassured her (at least in appearance) that for him she was the most important thing. He told her about the barking of the Coyotes in the night, a source of comfort. She evokes a certain nostalgia for parental figures, but violent oxymorons characterize her attitude towards a situation that, apparently, should have brought her peace and serenity. And it is at this point that he comes into play, the jailer, the personification of perversion, which she welcomes as the panacea for all her ills, the love always desired and that she trusts blindly, at any cost. For her, that perverse and distorted relationship represents an ideal, perhaps the only possible ideal. She is his possession, she depends on him and for him and their love would be ready for anything. In this perspective, everything that is clearly diverted and distorted is received with the candor of a child. To the extreme consequences.

There are many things dripping here. They flow, seep, sometimes manifest themselves with caressing grace, other times through rough brutal acts.

But no, fools, not all can be seen. You must know it. You must be aware that you will be invited to use different eyes. This heartbreaking work will find them, stimulate them with an overwhelming and stunning emotional power.

"Pink for the masses" is a supreme act of absolute devotion. Blind, yet visionary, together. Adjectives whose incompatibility is swept away.

It's her.

It is her who succeeds in this stunning removal.

She who presents us with a new meaning of shocking pink. It leaves marks on you the very moment her skin is violated.

She cuts you.

You only realize it later. And no, fool, don't look at your skin. It's not there that you will find them.

Certainly an interesting debut for the new "nostalgore" genre, created by Sid Lucero himself.

I used to be a fan of disturbing movies; I had a couple of DVDs by Fred Vogel and one by Lucifer Valentine (mentioning two directors that this film reminded me of). Over time, my tastes changed, and I sold all my DVDs and VHS tapes. A friend of mine told me about this movie, associating it with Lucifer Valentine's films. In reality, I only watched it because I had some time to spare and was curious. The first thing you notice is that it's an all-pink film: the clothes are pink, the set design is pink, even the flower (beautiful scene) is pink. There's some vomiting here, but the viewing isn't too disturbing. The entire film is narrated by a voice-over representing the girl's voice. The girl (named Pink - of course!) talks about her love for the man she's being filmed by a serial killer who subdues her. Online, they label it as horror-erotic, but it's a mistake to label it so. It's a film without a specific genre, it's more like a 60-minute poem. The ending is certainly gory, but this film actually feels almost like a sick romantic story. The sound design becomes increasingly trippy, as do the visuals. I'm not sure if I fully grasped the story; I don't want to write out the impression I got because I'm afraid of giving spoilers. However, I can say that it moved me, especially when the film starts turning black and white. This movie rattled me; perhaps that's why I liked it. They're making a sequel, so maybe that will help me understand the first one better. Don't be fooled when they compare Pink for the Masses to Lucifer Valentine's films, this is different. First of all, this movie actually has a storyline, and it conveys various emotions. Would I recommend it? It's a niche film, and it might appeal to those who enjoy this genre.
