Lord of Mysteries

I've been hearing about this story and it's anime/Donghua coming out soon on Twitter , and I was like, we definitely have a look and my God episode didn't disappoint at all. I am a Donghua only soo I can't speak about stuff that were or were not included from the novel, but after epsidoe 1 I will say this, this Donghua is destined for greatness. The mystery, the darkness vibe, horror like vibe, the animation, how fluid it looks, the ost's all top tier The first part of episode 1 was okay but the 2nd half brought the heat, Dunn Smith and Co joing the party had me on my feet, I couldn't wait to come write a review,I be off soon to finish episode 2 and then start playing the waiting game.

For everyone out there who wants to watch this series, don't just agree with what others say about it, be it negative or positive, check this series out yourself and judge, for me it's been amazing soo far, the mystery and dark vibe story is it selling point right now and it has delivered soo far. Wow! This is one of the best shows I have watched in recent years. What a beautifully crafted world. The production is insane. I have been hearing this about Lord of the Mysteries from novel readers for awhile. I thought they were glazing it too much. But nope. The glaze is 100% deserved. The story is a mystery with soulslike fantasy element. Our main character isn't someone pervert or idiot like a random isekai mc. He is smart and actually thinks before acting and has his own conflicts as well. Also side characters are good too. I am at episode 8 right now. The power system is one of the most well thought. And not to talk about the music itself. Its perfect for the shows setting. World is vast and beautiful Victorian steampunk era looks amazingly as it could be. First 2 episodes were but fast but the director said the issue would be fixed by episode 4 which they did. I dont get why people are so confused about the show. Like wtf? As a donghua only myself who doesnt watch any other extra content and understand it pretty much. Just read the subtitles. Also the hate is just unnecessary and undeserved. Don't listen to the 1/10 reviews. They are just newly created bot accounts for review bombing. Seriously people watch it. Its amazing and will be even better in the later part. Its seems confusing? Its a mystery so what do you expect. Some people judge it by only 2 episodes? Hilarious. Man the Patience and attention span of modern audience. Sigh. Did people forget about Steins; Gate and how confusing it was? But Steins;Gate became one one of the best of all time. LOTM is in the same category too. Don't judge too fast people or you will be missing a amazing fiction.

I haven't read the novels. I've only just started watching the anime. Although the barrier to entry to the series seems quite high, the exposition gets better with each episode. And I have to admit I'm truly blown away by how it's executed audiovisually. Honestly, I haven't seen anything so hypnotic in ages. The people responsible for it are true artists.

The animation is amazing; all of the character designs look lovely, and the plot is progressing beautifully. Of course, the story is amazing. The mix of the art style and story is nothing like you've ever seen before.

The soundtracks and sound effects are equally impressive, enhancing the immersive experience.

This thrilling supernatural steampunk mystery starts a bit slow in order to fully develop the world, but then it dives deeply into mystery and supernatural elements.

Overall: The series wastes no time in pulling viewers into its shadowy steampunk world. Thanks to a unique blend of "one shot & full animation" techniques, the donghua maintains a fluid, movie-like quality throughout each episode. It's a bold stylistic choice that elevates the storytelling and reinforces its moody, atmospheric tone.

I'm reviewing this series as an absolute beginner to lotm, I just read a few chapters before starting the anime.

The thing I'd like to say first is that the animation style is just breathtaking in my opinion. Frankly I just stare at it with my mouth wide open.

The plot is being fast so far (first three episodes) so sometimes I am not following at all but I think it will progressively get better.

The characters are very unique and interesting in design so far but I think its a bit too early to comment on the writing of them because its just a few episodes and it can get better (and I believe it will).

The last thing I will comment on is the world building and the idea itself, I have never seen anything quite like it. And that itself is very worth watching the anime and keeps me going.
