Murder in the Village: Who Killed the Doctor's Wife?

About 2/3 in on this overly repetitive 2-part documentary about Diane Jones, floozy alcoholic murder victim from decades past, I began wondering why the filmmakers ignored all the other murder victims in the area at that time and instead focused on this miserable slob. Every facet of the Diane Jones case is repeated and rehashed by a handful of often gleeful folks in this overlong, pointless show - and the grown children and exes of Mr. & Mrs. Jones are never interviewed - surely they had something of interest to say? When you are youthful, female, flimsily dressed and out to the pub drinking, falling-off-the-bar stool drunk and then staggering alone on flimsy strappy sandals on a creepy country road after dark, what do you expect? No sympathy for a sleazy woman who gave up her own baby to stay with a creepy doctor who got sick of her soon into their marriage and lost his license to practice medicine.

I seldom give 1 star, but this is ridiculous. There is nothing new in this documentary, no new information, no "secrets". The first parts gives the info about the case, which it repeats every ten minutes after a potential ad break. And then the second part *repeats* all that for 20 Minutes! And in the end, you gain nothing except what you already knew at the beginning: a doctor probably killed his wife, they couldn't prove it, he died without being found guilty, that's it. There was evidence the police didn't use, but why they didn't use it isn't examined beyond "we didn't find the witness reliable". Why? We'll never know! Infuriating.

Wasted two hours. Repetitive dreck. They tried to make this into something it very plainly wasn't. How many drone shots of the village? How many chances for the baffled coppers to shrug their shoulders? At the end of the exercise, there was absolutely nothing new. Breathless narration. Did I say repetition? Repeatedly, they covered the same ground. In the ever growing library of true crime pod casts and documentaries, this must not be included. We need to care about either the victim or the suspect and neither unfortunate person met that standard. At the risk of repeating myself, this was a dud.
