Nuru or Nothing

Three standard Nuru Massage scenes emerge on DVD from Adult Time, that are strictly blah sex filler. The talent goes through the motions of massage leading to sex with little energy or conviction.

A segment titled "Note to Self" has a prone-to-laugh Lauren Phillips playing a masseuse being interviewed by magazine writer David Lee. He seems nervous, not as a character but rather a performer not confident in his ability to improvise dialogue (opposite the talkative and phonily enthusiastic Phillips. He's credited as "The Client", even though it appears that he's merely the interviewer being given a demonstration by Lauren of how she applies a Nuru massage, including sex of course.

The title scene is directed by Jim Powers, more interested in gonzo than storytelling. Queenie Sateen services a first-time customer Seth Gamble and mechanically delivers a by-the-numbers XXX massage.

Final segment is "Mystic Massage", benefiting from the very sexy approach, both in her acting and sexual performance, of Slimthick Vic. It's directed by James Avalon but lists no screenwriting credit. Chris Scandal likes to talk out loud to himself, a device to deliver plot exposition, and he's on the phone, being dumped by his girlfriend. He finds a video on the internet of Vic advertising her massage salon -he makes an appointment, and she more than satisfies him. So be it.
