The daughter was a brat the first ten minutes she didn't do anything but have an attitude. The mom was clueless the only person with some sense was the brother. Lifetime could've done better with this movie it also played out very slowly took a while to get to the point. The cops were the usual slow moving lifetime cops who don't have a clue and really don't try to help. I just kept watching like (-_-) . Sad what happened but they all got on my nerves. It was very corny but show it to your pre teens it'll make them second guess talking and meeting up with strangers if you can get past the cringe.
The characters ask dumb questions or say things that wouldn't matter in such a situation. When asked for a description of the boy Krissy was talking to online, her friend only said "dark hair and 17." Uh, usually the first identifier is race, something that narrows down the possibilities right away.
The kidnapping came too soon. Viewers need time to get to know the character before we care about what happens to them.
And I agree with another poster. If the movie is filmed in the UK and all the actors are British...why not just set it in the UK? Crazy.
Last but not least, why is no care given to black actress's hair? There are plenty of black stylists who are available to work on movies. And what's more, most black stylists can do all kinds of hair because black people HAVE all types of hair from straight to kinky. Most non-black stylists don't know how to do any type of hair but their own.

I thought the plot was very interesting, but the production quality is so low, i thought i was watching a Tubi movie. The acting wasnt that great from anyone except for the Agent, the ending was the most anti-climatic thing ive ever witnessed, i thought i accidentally paused the movie for a second, It was really unrealistic, no cop, mostly with the cops, the words they used, their emotions, just not how regular police work, and also the attire, very "not actually a cop" ive seen halloween movies more detailed. Overall, not a movie i would watch again but im sure those actors will improve and i wish them the best.
First I want to say that this is a messed up world where perverts pay to watch children being abused.
I found this movie difficult to watch, but important to bring public awareness of catfishing. I knew going in that it would be hard to watch. So I tried to brace myself for things I would most likely see, or things that would be implied. But there is no way to prepare yourself for knowing that a child is being abused. It's just heartbreaking.
I've followed Cush Jumbo's career since her role in The Good Wife.
She plays Krissy's (Tia May Watts), the abducted girl's mother. I thought she did a good job. I think I heard her British accent creep in just once, very slightly.
I thought everyone was good in their roles, and the acting was above average for an LMN/Lifetime movie.
I don't care how savvy we think we are, catfishing is getting more and more dangerous. We must all be vigilant.
The ending made me emotional.

I saw the many bad reviews and despite them still gave the movie a chance, I wish I didn't. I want my hour and twenty seven minutes back, the last 6 minutes are the only interesting parts of the movie and it just ends in the most disappointing way. The whole cast of the movie can't act apart from agent fry. It's inspired by true events yet it's filmed in such a way that you can't help but think that it's fiction, there's serious lack of emotional connection to any character whatsoever. The mother and daughter are both as naive as each other and it's incredibly infuriating. Don't waste your time.
